Marshall Monument and Enclosure

The memorials in this section comprise the Marshall Monument, which is set atop a large and prominent mound of earth opposite the Porch and the Marshall Enclosure, a small area adjacent to the monument, which has memorial plaques attached to the dry-stone wall surrounding it.

Marshall Monument

MM - In loving memory of William Marshall of Patterdale Hall, born August 20th 1790 died May 16th 1872. And Georgiana Christiana his wife born March 31th 1801 died May 24th 1866. Erected by their loving children. John William Marshall born May 2nd 1829 died February 11th 1881. George Hibbert Marshall born October 28th 1832 died March 27th 1887. Walter James Marshall born June 11th 1837 died February 6th 1899.

ME/R1M1 - William Hibbert Marshall 1888 - 1929. Lenore Fairfax Marshall 1870 - 1933. Joanna Marshall 1899 - 1972.

ME/R1M2 - David Thompson beloved son of Joseph & Enid 1955 - 1978

ME/R1M3 - Godfrey Hibbert Marshall 1905 - 1984
